Information we collect from our users may be used in the following ways:

1. Subscription Services
Personal information provided as part of the registration process for any publication, product or service is used to manage your subscription and to enable us to provide a better service.

2. Payment details
Any information provided by you in connection with any transaction will be used by us to process the transaction. These details will be stored in a secure database and may be used by us to facilitate future transactions with you. If you do not wish us to store and use the information for future transactions, please contact us.

3. Contact details
We will use contact details provided by you as part of any registration process (i.e. your name, job title, telephone and fax number and your email and postal addresses) to provide any product or services requested by you and also to tell you about important changes to relevant services and their functionality.

NB: We will not use or disclose your email address for marketing purposes unless you have agreed that we may use or disclose it in this way.

4. Voluntary Information
We may ask for further information about you as part of online surveys. This information will be used to enable us to improve the relevant publication, product or service and will not be disclosed to other companies.

5. Statistical information
Aggregate statistical information provided by us to our advertisers or others regarding sales or website usage will not include personally identifying information.

6. Security
Your personal data will be held in a secure database. Our sites are equipped with the latest security devices/firewalls.

7. Access to Data
Under the Data Protection Act 1988. You have the right to be told what personal information we hold about you on our databases. You should write to us, attn Company Secretary at the following address: SciGrads, 19-21 Crawford Street, Marylebone, London W1U 8JL, stating your full name, your address and any of our publications or services to which you know you subscribe. A small administrative charge may be made for fulfilling this request.

8. SciGrads Graduate Directory: Profile and CV information
We offer you the ability to create a profile and upload a CV to our database. Your profile and CV may be then made available for searching, viewing over the Internet and downloading by our customers. These may be direct recruiters, employment consultants or other organisations. Customers who request CVs matching your profile to be sent to them may receive your CV and profile via email or CD Rom. Some of our customers may be located in countries outside the European Economic Area.

Your CV can only be viewed by a customer if you have consented to this within the profile section. You can choose to prevent our customers from accessing your personal details, CV or profile.

You can also choose to make your personal details and your CV anonymous, while having your profile available to be searched by recruiters. You can then choose to reveal yourself when you reply.

IMPORTANT: Your current employer may be one of our customers, or a client of one of our customers. We cannot restrict the customers who will access your CV or profile on our database and cannot be held responsible for any eventuality.

If you choose to create a profile and upload a CV to our database, we rely on you to ensure that your details are kept up to date. You should update your CV at least every six months, particularly if your contact details have changed. Once your profile and CV are on our database we will contact you every six months using your most recent contact details to ask whether you want it to remain there. If we do not hear from you, your profile and CV will be removed from our database.

We reserve the right to remove from our database CVs or profiles which include any content that we consider illegal or offensive.
