Course description
The Faculty of Brain Sciences at UCL is one of the most highly regarded centre of excellence in brain science in the world, and covers a broad range of disciplines incorporating psychology, language sciences, psychiatry, fundamental neuroscience, neurology, audiology and ophthalmology.

The new MRes in Brain Sciences programme will give students an understanding of the human brain and its disorders from the molecular to systems level, that will reflect the interdisciplinary breadth of pioneering research in brain sciences conducted at UCL. The first term consists of taught modules which cover contemporary Topics of Brain Science research, in which students attend Masterclasses with renowned researchers within the field of Brain Sciences, Biosciences Research skills, and Research Methods & Statistics. Students are also required to undertake an optional module within the wider field of Brain Sciences.

A single eight month research project in an area of research within the Faculty is a corner stone of the course. Opportunities exist to conduct cutting edge clinical and non-clinical research alongside world leading researchers.

The course will provide an essential competitive advantage to students applying for PhD and other post graduate programs at UCL or other internationally recognized institutes, and who wish to pursue a career in biomedical research in academia or industry.
