Project Coordinator, Science for Global Citizenship Project
Based in the MDEP offices in Manchester this is a full-time post fixed term contract until March 2012. Salary £22,664 to £25,775 subject to skills and experience.
Manchester Development Education Project works with schools and organisations to promote global learning for a just and sustainable world. We are seeking to appoint at Project Coordinator who will deliver the activities of the Science for Global Citizenship Project, funded by DFID's Development Awareness Fund.
The broad aims of the SfGC Project are to achieve:
(a) a better understanding of the role science has in development issues.
(b) greater use of scientific skills, including enquiry and practical action, for poverty reduction.
You will be educated to degree level with experience of science communication and working with young people. You will have experience in developing and running projects and been involved in developing and delivering participative educational activities. Understanding of education for global citizenship or development education and the global dimension to science is essential. Experience of reporting and monitoring to funders also essential.
