Technician (Part Time)

School of Medicine, MRC Epidemiology Resource Centre

£15,216 - 17,519 pro rata

We require a technician to start as soon as possible to process samples in the MAVIDOS Maternal Vitamin D Osteoporosis Study.

This post is fixed term for one year.

MAVIDOS is a double-blind placebo-controlled randomised trial of vitamin D supplements in pregnant women from 12 weeks to delivery to help optimise intrauterine bone mineral accrual in the offspring. The post will involve working flexibly in evenings for maximum total time of 4 hours per week. The postholder's primary responsibility will be to process blood and urine samples from participants of the MAVIDOS study. The postholder may be sometimes expected to help with preparation of trial paperwork (photocopying).

You must have experience of working in a laboratory situation and of processing blood and urine samples from whole blood to frozen aliquots. And will also need to have evidence of Hepatitis B immunity.
