Job description
The Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) seeks two Infrastructure Engineers to join us on a temporary full-time basis, initially for twelve months, based at our Cambridge Science Park office (free onsite parking and close to the guided bus and Cambridge North train station).

As one of our Infrastructure Engineers, you will work with our Site Reliability Engineering team and colleagues across Technology to complete a migration of our VMWare estate to a new data centre.

We are looking for:


– Expert knowledge of VMWare
– Experience in VMWare/data centre migrations
– Able to perform detailed technical analysis and write technical and project documentation.
– Expert end-to-end understanding of modern web and network architectures (DNS, HTTP, TCP, UDP, SSL
– Enthusiastic, highly self-motivated and a proactive team player.
– An excellent communicator who can explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical colleagues.


– Experience with VMWare migration via Zerto
– Experience with Layer 2 stretching
– Ability to quickly learn and implement unfamiliar technologies.
