MSc Neuroscience 2009-2010
Department of Neuroscience, Physiology & Pharmacology & Cell and Development Biology
University College London
UCL and its associated institutes have the widest ranging neuroscience community in Europe. The MSc in Neuroscience programme comprises a research seminar series from top researchers from all fields of neuroscience (e.g., cellular and molecular aspects of neuroscience, including ion channels, electrophysiology, molecular biology, development, synaptic transmission etc.), together with a research project running throughout the year in a laboratory of your choice. Critical analysis of research papers and data presentation are also stressed. Check out the web site for further information (see above).
The minimum entry requirement is a 2(i) Honours degree, or equivalent, in any field of science. The course requires some background in cellular and molecular physiology but arrangements are available for those converting from other fields. It is particularly aimed at anyone who would like to get a wider perspective on the field of neuroscience research as it is happening today.
Most of our graduates go on to funded PhD places.
There are two MRC Doctoral Training Grant studentships available, which include fees and a stipend (Research Council Residency restrictions apply), as well as some departmental bursaries (2 x £2,000) available. All eligible applications received by 31st March, 2009 will automatically be considered.
In addition, graduate school awards may be available. Check these on: http://www.grad.ucl.ac.uk/funds/
