Entry requirementsAll applications are considered individually on merit. Normally an Upper Second Class Honours degree or above (or equivalent) in a biological, chemical or biochemical science subject is required. Fees (2009/10) UK/EU students: £4,500; International students: £12,250 (full-time; part-time, pro rata credit-based).
Funding opportunities Generous bursaries and scholarships of up to £2,000 are available each year from the School. There are also opportunities for University Full-Fee Masters Scholarships, British Council Fellowships and Awards, and Foreign and Commonwealth Scholarships. "The biotechnology sector has seen rapid growth over the past decade, and it provides great opportunities for enterprising people who can work at the interface of science and business. There is a real need for bioscience graduates who have the business acumen needed to lead in this expanding sector. To fill this need we have developed the Masters programme in Biotechnology and Enterprise. By training you in the latest advances in molecular biology and 'omics' technologies the programme addresses the core focus of modern pharmaceutical, environmental and applied biotechnology. In addition we will introduce you to the theory and practice of entrepreneurial activity providing an overview of the demands associated with working in the biotechnology industry. Therefore the ultimate aim of this programme is to develop top class scientists with a flare for business."

Biotechnology is an expanding sector providing a range of opportunities for employment. A key shortage exists for skilled scientists who also possess the business skills required for success. This MSc programme develops skills in both of these areas, delivering you to the forefront of bioscience applications whist building a strong foundation in business practice and development. The programme is run in partnership with the highly regarded Business School at the University, benefiting from their knowledge and skills regarding business management and enterprise.
